"San Jose Foto is an international photography festival located in the city of San Jose de Mayo, Oriental Republic of Uruguay. It was born out of an idea of Maria Aldaz, local photographer, and Christian Rodriguez, who in the first edition had the support of city merchants, photography lovers and the sponsorship of the Municipality of the department. Its main goal is to bring photography to all parts of Uruguay, and get it closer to the ordinary citizen, looking for unconventiona lformats and spaces such as facades of public and private buildings. Sharing the images with the public, with an even more obvious relationship in the city of San Jose that has maintained its unique architecture combined with the peaceful life of the people."
