Tbilisi Photo Festival was co-founded by French photographer, currently Photo Editor in chief at the French daily newspaper Liberation, Lionel Charrier and the Georgian photo curator and journalist Nestan Nijaradze. It was first launched in 2010, in partnership with Les Rencontres d’Arles. Eight editions later it has become not only the most important photo festival in the region but one of the major annual cultural events in the Caucasus.The Festival aims to be a central meeting point for photography from different regions – Asia, Iran, Turkey, Europe, the Arab world - and to showcase the best of world photography; as well as to promote emerging regional photography. With upcoming 8th edition, Tbilisi Photo Festival will firmely establish Tbilisi as capital of photography of the Caucasus.

Launched in 2010, LagosPhoto is the first and only international arts festival of photography in Nigeria. AFF is a biennial international photography festival held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. It has previously featured exhibitions, portfolio reviews, conferences, projections and film screenings in many different renowned venues. It is also the first and only international photography festival in East Africa.
Marie-Ann Yemsi, Curator of the 11th edition of the Bamako Encounters, has chosen to take a more collaborative approach with the setting-up of a Curatorial Advisory Committee. The Committee’s membership reflects a diverse, dynamic range of cultural talents, most of whom are active on the African continent today.The Committee will meet in Bamako at the end of June, in a curatorial workshop chaired by Samuel Sidibé, Director of the Bamako Encounters. The Committee will contribute to the reflection on the program and the special projects of the Bamako Encounters proposed by the curator. It will also participate in the selection of the artists of the pan-African exhibition following the call for applications.
San Jose Foto is an international photography festival located in the city of San Jose de Mayo, Oriental Republic of Uruguay. It was born out of an idea of Maria Aldaz, local photographer, and Christian Rodriguez, who in the first edition had the support of city merchants, photography lovers and the sponsorship of the Municipality of the department. Its main goal is to bring photography to all parts of Uruguay, and get it closer to the ordinary citizen, looking for unconventiona lformats and spaces such as facades of public and private buildings. Sharing the images with the public, with an even more obvious relationship in the city of San Jose that has maintained its unique architecture combined with the peaceful life of the people.

ES/ "MUFF (Montevideo Uruguay Festival de Fotografía) se concibió como un evento trienal dedicado a acompañar los procesos de creación con el objetivo de profundizar la reflexión sobre la producción fotográfica nacional e internacional. MUFF está organizado en cada edición a partir de una temática global que guía sus procesos de trabajo, investigación, producción práctica y teórica durante un período de casi dos años. Organizado por el Centro de Fotografía de Montevideo, para esta edición inaugural se eligió Vivencia como eje temático, con el objetivo de investigar, por un lado, el papel que la fotografía tiene en la sociedad actual; y por otro, el que puede desarrollar en el ámbito colectivo y social del trabajo en comunidad. Hemos ampliado el espectro autoral para trabajar con fotografía y a partir de la fotografía, explorando las múltiples potencialidades de enunciación de la imagen fotográfica, así como de los factores que intervienen en su producción y los que pueden ser provocados y activados, como el espacio de trabajo grupal."
T3 PHOTO FESTIVAL is the first outdoor photography festival that takes place in the city of Tokyo. Using the Ueno district as its venue, the visitor will experience world class outdoor exhibitions by the international artists, symposium at the highest educational institute, as well as the old town ambience reminiscent of Tokyo from past decades still survives.
Every summer since 1970, over the course of more than forty exhibitions at various of the city's exceptional heritage sites, the Rencontres d'Arles has been a major influence in dissiminating the best of world photography and playing the role of a springboard for photographic and contemporary creative talents. In 2016, the festival welcomed more than 100 000 visitors.
